Blackfriars Rotunda

The Blackfriars Rotunda was a notable building in Southwark, London, operational from 1787 to 1958. Initially housing the Leverian Museum, it became a hub for radical political activities in the early 1830s. Designed by James Parkinson, the Rotunda featured a unique circular gallery and served various purposes over the years, including a venue for public lectures and performances. It was a center for social reform discussions and was frequented by prominent radicals. Despite its vibrant history, the building transitioned to ordinary business use before being demolished in 1958, leaving behind a legacy of cultural and political significance.
