Old North Church (Christ Church in the City of Boston)

Christ Church, commonly called the Old North Church and located at 193 Salem Street, was built in 1723 and is one of Boston's oldest surviving church buildings. It is historically associated with the April 1775 signal lanterns that warned of British troop movements; some details of the event's contemporary reporting and later retellings are debated by historians. The church building and its steeple remain preserved as an 18th-century ecclesiastical structure in Boston's North End.
