Prudential Tower (Mid-century commercial modernism)

The Prudential Tower, completed in 1964 as part of the Prudential Center complex, became Boston's tallest building upon its completion and is a landmark of mid-20th-century commercial modernism. The tower anchors the Back Bay skyline and historically included a public observation level known as the Skywalk. Developed by the Prudential Insurance Company, the complex reshaped air-rights development over the railroad tracks in the Back Bay.
