Neil House

The Neil House was a historic hotel located on High Street in Downtown Columbus, Ohio, operating from 1842 until 1980. Known for its Beaux Arts architectural style, the third and largest building featured 657 rooms and a stunning 13-panel mural. The hotel was built by William Neil, who also contributed to the local community through his stagecoach company and charitable efforts. Over its history, the Neil House served as a prominent gathering place, including hosting future president William McKinley during his governorship. The hotel was a significant landmark in Columbus and was listed in The Green Book, reflecting its importance in the African American community. Today, the site has been redeveloped into the Huntington Center.
