Capt. Josiah Locke House

The Capt. Josiah Locke House, built in 1803 in Winchester, Massachusetts, is a notable example of Federal style architecture. This historic two-story wood frame house was constructed by Captain Josiah Locke, a local militia leader. It features preserved early interior details, including Federal and Greek Revival elements and vintage wallpaper. The house is also significant as the former residence of Maribel Vinson Owen, a nine-time US Women's Figure Skating Champion, and her daughter Laurence Owen, a champion in her own right, both tragically lost in the Sabena Flight 548 crash in 1961. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
