Alma Hall

Alma Hall, located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, is a historic building that serves as the home of Alma Lodge #523 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Opened in 1884, it is notable for being the first four-story building in the city and the oldest constructed by a fraternal organization in downtown. The building played a crucial role during the devastating Johnstown Flood of 1889, providing refuge for 264 survivors, including a doctor who rendered aid despite his injuries. Today, Alma Hall continues to function as a lodge and community space, housing various offices and shops, while preserving its architectural significance as an example of Queen Anne style.
