St James, Guernsey

St James is a historic former church located in Saint Peter Port, Guernsey, originally built in 1818 to serve the British garrison. After becoming redundant in 1970, it underwent restoration and was reopened in 1985 as a concert and assembly hall, winning a Civic Trust Award in 1986. The venue features Whittaker Hall, known for its excellent acoustics, and can host various events, including concerts, formal dinners, and weddings. The Dorey Centre, added in 2002, provides additional facilities such as meeting rooms and a café, making it a vibrant cultural hub that also houses the Guernsey Millennium Tapestry.
