Linneman Building

The Linneman Building was a historic commercial structure in downtown Lima, Ohio, built in 1899 in a transitional architectural style. Notable for its artistic brickwork and large semicircular windows adorned with aluminum sashes, it featured intricate stone carvings reminiscent of Louis Sullivan's designs. Erected during Lima's economic boom due to nearby petroleum discoveries, the building was part of a wave of ornate constructions in the area. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 for its architectural significance, alongside other notable buildings. Unfortunately, the Linneman Building has since been demolished, and a parking lot now occupies its site, marking the loss of this once-prominent piece of Lima's architectural heritage.
