William Curtis House (Newton, Massachusetts)

The William Curtis House, built in 1839, is a historic wood-frame residence located in Newton Lower Falls, Massachusetts. This notable example of transitional Federal-Greek Revival architecture features a five bay front facade, four side chimneys, and a Doric porch. The house was constructed for William Curtis, who, along with his brother, operated a pioneering local paper mill that was the first to use a Foudrinier machine for roll paper production. Recognized for its historical significance, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
