Mapparium (Mary Baker Eddy Library)

The Mapparium is a three-story stained-glass globe installed inside the Mary Baker Eddy Library in 1935 that visitors can walk through on a suspended walkway. The interior presents a contemporary-to-its-construction world map and produces distinct acoustic effects, including a pronounced whispering-gallery phenomenon. It remains a unique mid-20th-century cartographic exhibit open to the public.
