St. Emma Plantation

St. Emma Plantation is a historic 13,000-acre former sugar plantation located in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. This site features a Greek Revival plantation house that was owned by notable sugar planter Charles A. Kock from 1854 to 1869. The plantation played a role in the Civil War, witnessing a skirmish in the fall of 1862. Recognized for its historical significance, the plantation was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers interested in Louisiana's rich history.
