Overton Farm

Overton Farm is a historic farmhouse located near Hodges, Alabama, founded in 1817 by Abner Overton, a tobacco merchant. The original one-room log cabin was expanded to five rooms, with only two remaining today, connected by a breezeway. The farm remained in the Overton family until 1946 and was later acquired by the Tennessee Valley Authority in 1969. Restored in the 1970s, it served as an educational center until 2013 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American history and architecture.
