Waite Brick Block

The Waite Brick Block, located at 422-424 Main Street in Malden, Massachusetts, is a historic commercial building dating back to 1848, making it the oldest brick structure in the city. This three-story Greek Revival building features a distinctive hip roof with three tapered chimneys and a unique curved corner that aligns with the original junction of Main and Pleasant Streets. Notable architectural details include granite lintels above the windows and a cornice adorned with brick dentil work. The building was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, albeit with a misspelling as 'Waitt'.
