Payne's Folly

Payne's Folly is a historic home situated in Fawn Township, York County, Pennsylvania, dating back to around 1750. This early Germanic dwelling features a distinctive 2+1⁄2-story structure with four bays by two bays, measuring 36 feet by 24 feet. Notable for its full basement and steep gable roof, the house is uniquely built into a hillside. It was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it an intriguing site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture.
