Fitzgerald Field House

Fitzgerald Field House is a historic multi-purpose athletic venue located at the University of Pittsburgh, with a seating capacity of 4,122. Opened in 1951, it has served as the home for various sports teams, including gymnastics, volleyball, and wrestling, and was once the primary basketball venue for the university. The facility has undergone significant renovations, enhancing its training and competition spaces, and features an indoor track, weight training facilities, and squash courts. Notable events include the 1957 NCAA Wrestling Championship and a famous college basketball moment in 1988 when Jerome Lane shattered a backboard. The Field House continues to host important athletic events and serves as a hub for student-athletes.
