Smith Tower observation deck

Smith Tower, completed in 1914 in Pioneer Square, was once the tallest building on the U.S. West Coast and remains a distinctive early-20th-century skyscraper. Visitors photograph the historic elevator, the observation deck, and the Chinese Room; those images are commonly shared online and sometimes used in memes about vintage urban architecture. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to operate as an observation and event space.
