Quincy Market - 19th-century food marketplace

Quincy Market was constructed between 1824 and 1826 as a centralized market building to serve Boston's growing commercial needs and was named for Mayor Josiah Quincy Jr. The colonnaded granite market quickly became a focal point for food vendors, prepared-food stalls, and wholesale commerce in Boston throughout the 19th century. Today the building remains a historic marketplace within Faneuil Hall Marketplace, continuing a long tradition of food retail and dining at the site.
