Michigan Central Station (abandoned imagery used in memes)

Michigan Central Station is a Beaux-Arts former train station in Detroit that sat largely vacant and decaying for decades. Photographs of its boarded windows, collapsed floors, and grand but deteriorating interior were widely circulated online and used in image macros and posts about urban decay. Ford Motor Company purchased the building in 2018 and began a redevelopment project that has changed the site since its peak visibility as an abandoned landmark.
