West Point Lighthouse at Seattle's westernmost tip

West Point Light sits on the headland within Discovery Park, marking the westernmost point of Seattle's municipal land. The lighthouse was constructed in 1881 and remains an active aid to navigation maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. Its location at the meeting of rugged shoreline and Puget Sound makes it a physical border point between the city and the maritime approaches to Elliott Bay.
