Condor Club

The Condor Club, located in San Francisco's North Beach, is renowned as the first fully topless nightclub in America, opening its doors in 1958. It gained fame in 1964 when dancer Carol Doda introduced the monokini, becoming a cultural icon. Initially a music venue, it hosted acts like The Righteous Brothers before shifting to adult entertainment. The club is also known for a tragic incident in 1983 involving a bouncer and an exotic dancer. After closing in 2000 and briefly operating as a sports bar, it reopened in 2007 as the Condor Club, now recognized as 'San Francisco's Original Gentlemen's Club.' In 2022, it was added to the San Francisco Legacy Business registry, highlighting its historical significance.
