Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park

The Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort was built in 1855 by Mormon settlers at a site adjacent to the Las Vegas Springs, a water source long used by Southern Paiute people. The fort served as a trading post and way-station on the route between Salt Lake City and southern California. Today the site is preserved as a Nevada State Park and includes interpretive displays about the fort's history and the springs that sustained Indigenous use of the valley.
