Bellevoir-Ormsby Village

Bellevoir is a historic Italianate-style home located in Lyndon, Kentucky, built around 1867. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Originally constructed by Hamilton Ormsby, a notable figure in Jefferson County, the house later served as a children's home and school from 1912, evolving into Ormsby Village, which catered to dependent and delinquent children. The site has a rich history, including the integration of African-American children in the 1960s. Although the surrounding institutional buildings were demolished for office park development, the Bellevoir mansion was preserved and now serves as a venue for meetings and receptions, set within 14 acres of landscaped grounds.
