San Jose Sharks and SAP Center ('The Shark Tank')

The San Jose Sharks began play as an NHL expansion franchise in 1991. The team has long been associated with downtown San Jose's SAP Center, which is commonly nicknamed "The Shark Tank." SAP Center has hosted Sharks regular-season and playoff home games as well as other major sporting events and concerts throughout the franchise's history. The arena is a focal point of professional hockey in San Jose.
