Renwick Gallery - Historic craft museum and 2015 'WONDER' installations

The Renwick Gallery is housed in a 19th-century building designed by James Renwick Jr. and built between 1859 and 1861. It serves as the Smithsonian branch dedicated to American craft and decorative arts and underwent a major conservation and reinstallation that reopened in 2015. The 2015 reopening featured site-specific large-scale installations under the exhibition titled 'WONDER,' which drew significant public and critical attention to contemporary craft and installation art.
