John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

Established by Congress as the National Cultural Center and opened as the Kennedy Center in 1971, the complex serves as the United States' national performing arts center. It is the longtime home of the National Symphony Orchestra and hosts a wide range of music programming from classical to contemporary genres. The Center also presents world premieres, touring productions, and annual events that are part of D.C.'s music history.
