Christiansborg Palace (2nd)

The second Christiansborg Palace, built between 1803 and 1828 in Copenhagen, served as a new royal residence for the Danish monarch after the first palace was destroyed by fire. Designed by Christian Frederik Hansen in a French Empire style, it was constructed on the ruins of its predecessor. Although completed, King Frederick VI opted to remain at Amalienborg Palace, using Christiansborg primarily for entertainment. The palace played a significant role in Denmark's transition to democracy, housing the Parliament and witnessing historic events. Frederik VII was the only monarch to reside there from 1852 to 1863. Unfortunately, the palace was destroyed by fire in 1884, leading to the construction of the current Christiansborg, which now serves as the Danish parliament.
