SFMOMA plaza and outdoor commissions

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) at 151 Third Street programs outdoor public artworks and plaza-scale installations as part of its public-engagement and commissioning activities. Since the museum’s 2016 expansion, the SFMOMA plaza and visible exterior spaces have hosted temporary and permanent sculptures and installations by major contemporary artists intended for public view. The museum documents and presents these works as part of its institutional collection and rotating public-art programs.
