Merle Whitman Tourist Cabin

The Merle Whitman Tourist Cabin, located in Ozark, Arkansas, is a historic accommodation built in 1933-34, showcasing a unique combination of local fieldstone, cut sandstone, and concrete. It is the only known tourist building in Franklin County featuring this architectural style. After serving as a tourist lodging until the 1960s, it transitioned to house the local chamber of commerce until 1995. The cabin was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers.
