Gideon Hart House

The Gideon Hart House, built in 1820, is the oldest home in Westerville, Ohio, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally constructed by Gideon Hart, a Revolutionary War veteran's son, the house reflects the early development of the area. Hart was a significant figure, known for establishing sawmills, orchards, and contributing to local governance. The house retains much of its original structure, including burn marks on the wood floors and historic tile around the fireplaces. Visitors can appreciate the blend of history and modern updates, including a recently renovated kitchen and additional living spaces.
