Tennessee State University Tigerbelles - Olympic gold medalists trained in Nashville

Tennessee State University's women's track program (the Tigerbelles), coached by Ed Temple in Nashville, produced multiple Olympic gold medalists. Wilma Rudolph was a student at Tennessee State and won three gold medals at the 1960 Rome Olympics. Wyomia Tyus, another Tigerbelle, won Olympic gold in the 100 meters in 1964 and 1968. The athletes trained and competed on TSU's Nashville campus during their Olympic careers.
