Bartram's Garden (John Bartram House and botanical collections)

Bartram's Garden is the site of the John Bartram House and the oldest surviving botanic garden in North America, established by John Bartram in 1728. The National Historic Landmark preserves the original house, historic plantings, and an extensive collection of plants along the Schuylkill River, and it operates as a public garden and cultural site. Its riverside setting in Southwest Philadelphia feels secluded compared with more central tourist sites.
