Villa Riviera

Villa Riviera is a historic 16-story French Gothic building located on Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach, California. Completed in 1928, it was once the tallest private building in Southern California and is renowned for its elegant architecture, featuring grotesques and a verdigris copper roof. Originally designed as a luxury residential cooperative, the building offered hotel-like amenities including maid service and a private beach. Despite the Great Depression and the 1933 Long Beach earthquake, Villa Riviera remained structurally sound, showcasing advanced engineering for its time. Today, it serves as condominiums, preserving its status as a significant landmark and a testament to the city's history.
