Seattle Art Museum (downtown)

The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) was founded in 1933 and operates the downtown museum along with the Seattle Asian Art Museum in Volunteer Park and the Olympic Sculpture Park. SAM's downtown building on First Avenue houses major collections including Native American and contemporary art and hosts rotating temporary exhibitions. The downtown location serves as the institution's central gallery and visitor entrance.
