Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park

Las Vegas Mormon Fort State Historic Park preserves the remains of an adobe fort built in 1855 by Mormon missionaries, regarded as the first permanent non-native settlement in the Las Vegas Valley. The site includes reconstructed adobe walls and interpretive displays about early settlement and irrigation in the valley. It is maintained as a Nevada state historic site and marks the origins of the community that became Las Vegas.
