Igumnov House

Igumnov House is a historic residence located at 43 Bolshaya Yakimanka Street in Moscow, serving as the French Ambassador's residence since 1938. Built between 1883 and 1893 by architect Nikolay Pozdeyev, the building showcases a unique blend of architectural styles and has a tragic history, including the suicide of its architect due to financial disputes. Originally owned by the Igumnov family, the house has undergone various uses, including a communal club and medical institutions, before becoming the embassy's official residence. A restoration project is planned to preserve its historical significance.
