Emery County Cabin

The Emery County Cabin, built in 1879, is one of the last remaining historic frontier post offices in the United States, located in Utah's This Is The Place Heritage Park. Originally serving the community of Muddy Creek, it became the official post office under postmaster Casper Christensen in the 1880s. The cabin showcases early settler construction techniques and served multiple roles, including a doctor's office. After the town became a ghost town, the cabin was relocated and preserved, undergoing renovation in 2009. Today, it stands as a testament to Utah's pioneering history and is part of a heritage park that celebrates the region's past.
