Mercantile National Bank Building (The Merc)

The Mercantile National Bank Building at 1700 Main St was historically the headquarters of Mercantile Bancshares and is a longstanding downtown office tower. The building and the Mercantile name are tied to Dallas's mid-20th-century banking history; in recent decades portions of the complex have been repurposed for residential and commercial uses. The structure remains a recognizable element of the Main Street corridor.
