Rothko Chapel

Rothko Chapel is a non-denominational chapel and art space in the Museum District founded by John and Dominique de Menil and opened in 1971. Its interior walls display 14 large, dark-hued paintings by Mark Rothko arranged to create a meditative environment. The chapel functions as an ecumenical space for contemplation, art, and public programs.
