Down Town Association

The Down Town Association (DTA) is a historic private club located in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City, established in 1859. It is the fifth oldest private club in New York and the first in lower Manhattan, with its current clubhouse, dedicated in 1887, being the first purposely built for a private club in the city. The Romanesque Revival clubhouse is a designated New York City landmark and features elegant interiors, including a bar, dining rooms, and a reading room. Originally a men's luncheon club, it has evolved to offer full dining and events, welcoming women since 1985. The DTA has a notable membership that includes prominent figures from business and politics, such as Franklin D. Roosevelt and Grover Cleveland.
