City of San José Stormwater Program (Environmental Services Division)

The City of San José Environmental Services Division administers the municipal stormwater program required by the MS4/NPDES permit, carrying out storm drain maintenance, catch basin cleaning, street sweeping and inspection programs to reduce pollutants entering the storm drain system. The city enforces municipal ordinances that prohibit discharges to storm drains, operates reporting channels for illicit discharges and documents monitoring and Best Management Practices in publicly available reports. These activities are implemented from the city's public works/environmental services offices and are part of routine municipal services.
