Balboa Theatre (1924) - Historic vaudeville/movie palace

The Balboa Theatre opened in 1924 as a vaudeville house and movie palace serving downtown San Diego and the Gaslamp Quarter. After decades of decline it underwent an extensive restoration and reopened as a restored performance venue in the 2000s. The theatre is a surviving example of early 20th-century entertainment infrastructure in the city.
