Frist Art Museum (former U.S. Post Office)

The Frist Art Museum occupies the former main U.S. Post Office building, an Art Deco structure completed in the 1930s and converted to an art museum that opened in 2001. The adaptive reuse preserved the building's exterior and many interior details while creating galleries for traveling and permanent exhibitions. The site is a noted example of historic preservation and downtown cultural reuse in Nashville.
