Arbuckle Place

Arbuckle Place is a historic home in Assawoman, Virginia, built in 1774. This unique structure features a 1+1⁄2-story hall and parlor design with brick ends and a frame front and back, topped with a steep gable roof. Inside, visitors can admire intricate paneling, built-in cupboards, and original doors and hardware, showcasing the craftsmanship of its time. As a rare example of the small brick end house style that was once common on the Eastern Shore, Arbuckle Place was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture.
