The Skinny House in the North End

The so-called Skinny House is a narrow triangular residence squeezed between two larger buildings in Boston's North End; it is commonly cited as one of the narrowest houses in the city. The house dates to the late 19th century and occupies an unusually small, irregular lot created by adjacent property lines and historical parceling. Its extreme narrowness is a physical anomaly tied directly to the shape of the lot at that specific North End location.
