Belmont Mansion (Acklen Hall)

Belmont Mansion, completed in 1853 for Adelicia Acklen, is an Italianate-style country house noted for its ornate plasterwork, stained glass, and landscaped grounds. The mansion survived the Civil War and later became part of Belmont University; it now operates as a historic house museum interpreting antebellum life and the Acklen family. Belmont Mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of Nashville's best-preserved 19th-century domestic buildings.
