Lok Bhavan, Mahabaleshwar

Lok Bhavan, formerly known as Raj Bhavan, is the summer residence of the Governor of Maharashtra, located in the picturesque hill station of Mahabaleshwar. Originally named The Terraces during the British Raj, it served as the summer retreat for the Governor of Bombay. The building has a rich history, having been purchased in 1884 and officially becoming a government property in 1886. It is used by the Governor for a few weeks each summer to oversee development projects and attend public functions in the region. The Terraces has undergone significant renovations over the years to accommodate the preferences of various Governors.
