Honolulu House

Honolulu House, also known as the Abner Pratt House, is a historic home located in Marshall, Michigan, built in 1860. This unique residence showcases a blend of Hawaiian inspiration with Italianate and Gothic Revival architectural styles. Constructed by Abner Pratt, a notable figure who served as chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court and U.S. Consul to Hawaii, the house features a sprawling wraparound porch reminiscent of the 'Iolani Palace and is adorned with tropical murals. After Pratt's death in 1863, the house underwent renovations and was transformed into a museum by the Marshall Historical Society in 1961. Visitors can admire its striking white vertical siding, ornamental columns, and distinctive pagoda-roofed tower, making it a fascinating destination for both tourists and researchers interested in historical architecture and the cultural connections between Michigan and Hawaii.
