Nickell Homestead and Mill

Nickell Homestead and Mill, located in Monroe County, West Virginia, is a historic site that showcases early 19th-century architecture and rural life. The main house, built around 1820 with later additions, features Federal and Colonial Revival styles. The site includes several contributing buildings, such as a two-story grist mill from 1814 and various outbuildings. Although the mill closed in 1949 and has since been demolished, the homestead remains a testament to the region's history. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, it offers a glimpse into the past, though its current state raises concerns about preservation.
