The Spirit of Detroit is a 26-foot bronze sculpture by Marshall Fredericks installed in 1958 on the exterior of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center. The sculpture has become a recurrent subject of photographs and internet memes, frequently appearing in online posts that dress or decorate it for sports victories, civic events, and public health campaigns.
