Marcel Duchamp's Étant donnés at the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Marcel Duchamp's final major work, Étant donnés (1946–1966), is part of the Philadelphia Museum of Art's permanent collection and is installed in a purpose-built, single-room presentation space. The piece was largely private until it was revealed and installed by the museum in a controlled exhibition environment that follows Duchamp's display specifications. The museum acquired the work as part of Duchamp's bequest and it remains a permanent installation in the modern art holdings.
